Comcast to Deliver Scalability and Uptime to Philadelphia Technology Park
Philadelphia Technology Park, the Mid-Atlantic’s premier data center for colocation, recently teamed up with Comcast (News
- Alert) Corporation to provide the data center with access to Comcast’s private, optical network and extensive fiber footprint.
Philadelphia Technology Park is a state-of-the-art, 25,700 square foot collocation center that was designed to meet the high density, cooling and bandwidth requirements the Uptime Institute. This park is located only within the Philadelphia Navy Yard and is the purpose-built, single-use data center facility of its kind in Southeastern Pennsylvania, South Jersey and Wilmington market. More than $25 million have been invested into Philadelphia Technology Park.
Speaking about the new partnership, Michael Maloney, vice president of Comcast Business Services, Freedom Region said with its Ethernet suite of services, the company is able to deliver the scalability and maximum uptime essential to the range of businesses located at the Philadelphia Technology Park, regardless of size or requirements.
Maloney also said the backbone of a data center is flexible and reliable connectivity, and its Ethernet solution will enhance network capabilities in the Philadelphia Navy Yard while reducing the costs and management associated with delivering critical business applications.
As a bonus, the businesses, including Comcast customers and perspective customers, will now be able to connect with a state-of-the-art data center and have access to Comcast’s high-performance network.
“As we continue to expand our connections throughout the region, we are proud to welcome Comcast to Philadelphia Technology Park and the Navy Yard," said Corey Blanton, chief operating officer of Enterprise Technology Parks. "We are pleased to provide the Navy Yard with a connection to Comcast’s high performance network and to offer their bandwidth services and routes to meet customers’ communications needs."
