OSN Acquires OuterNet
One Source Networks (News - Alert) (OSN), a managed voice, data and cloud services provider and network partner of choice for large enterprises, has acquired OuterNet, a cloud managed solutions provider.
OuterNet offers a comprehensive range of IT solutions, including business continuity and disaster recovery, data center services, managed network services and value-added reseller and professional services.
"This acquisition is tremendously exciting for One Source Networks and our customer base," said Ernest Cunningham, CEO, One Source Networks, in a statement.
Cunningham said the combined strengths of OSN and OuterNet create a unique managed network solutions organization that is committed to delivering continuously innovative products to the enterprise market.
The acquisition provides OSN with additional managed services, infrastructure and professional services expertise that complement its existing services and capabilities.
The transaction includes OuterNet’s 10,000 square foot data center in Austin, Texas, which houses customer equipment as well as infrastructure for cloud computing and unified communications offerings. In addition, customers will benefit from an integrated 24/7 onsite Network Operations Center (NOC (News - Alert)), to allow for more efficient, premium-quality solution delivery.
The acquisition allows OSN to add business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities, as well as managed hosting and storage to its growing portfolio. These products are particularly significant at present when enterprises are focused on both strategic allocation of IT investments and safeguarding of mission-critical company information.
Earlier in November, One Source Networks and the Keystone Initiative for Network Based Education and Research (KINBER), the not-for-profit membership organization that is building a broadband network across Pennsylvania, announced that OSN became the first company added to KINBER’s designated provider list for last mile connectivity.
The KINBER research network joins 38 other state research networks across the country that deliver high bandwidth networking services to support regional economic development.
As a carrier neutral provider of last mile access, One Source Networks is uniquely qualified to efficiently and cost-effectively design, source, implement and manage last-mile access from all available providers in Pennsylvania.
OSN has more than 23,000 on-net and carrier unique locations in Pennsylvania, resulting in access options and secure competitive pricing for more than 90 percent of KINBER members’ needs across the commonwealth.
