Tenzing Unveils DoS Assure Service to Secure e-Commerce from DDoS Attacks
There are an estimated 7,000 distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks reported daily, according to a recent report from NTT (News - Alert) America on key trends shaping the broadband and IP transit industry.
To address these concerns of customers, Tenzing Managed IT Services, has just unveiled DoS Assure, the latest in its series of Advanced Managed Services.
A fully managed denial of service (DoS) solution, Tenzing DoS Assure helps customers overcome common IT, application and business challenges by offering a cost-effective way to deal with the increasingly disruptive threats of DoS and DDoS attacks, along with other malicious traffic.
"Tenzing's DoS Assure service strengthens our portfolio of Advanced Managed Services and is another example of our commitment to deliver solutions that address complex challenges faced by our clients," said Raj Atwal, vice president and general manager, E-commerce at Tenzing, in a statement.
"With the busiest time of year for e-commerce retailers fast approaching, we are especially excited about launching DoS Assure now,” Atwal added. “Protecting online sales against DoS and DDoS attacks during the busy holiday shopping season will be vitally important for many of our clients."
DoS Assure is offered under different models. It can be configured as a real-time safeguard that stops threats before they happen. It can also be subscribed as an "on-demand" model should an organization suddenly find itself under attack.
"In one way or another, almost all companies today rely heavily on the Internet and if their application is truly mission-critical, a DoS attack can bring their business to an immediate halt," says Brian Shepard, founder and CEO of Tenzing.
"Companies need to have a plan in place to prevent and mitigate DoS attacks and DoS Assure, backed by our security team's expertise, provides an effective and affordable solution to accomplish this goal," Shepard added.
DoS Assure provides live, 24x7 risk monitoring and management across multiple operation centers. The company’s dedicated team of security experts provide fast response and remediation to ensure that attacks are averted or have minimal impact on business critical applications.
The solution is built on a highly available cleansing and filtering points-of-presence so it can handle the largest and most complex attacks, the company claims.
NTT America (News - Alert) IP transit trends report estimates the business costs associated with DDoS attacks are substantial for any online entity. Monetary losses from a DDoS attack can range from $90,000 to $6.5 million per hour.Edited by Rachel Ramsey
