Backbone Connect Helping Consumers Take Advantage of IPv6 Services
With the IPv4 IP addressing space fast depleting and acquiring IPv4 address space becoming even more difficult, Backbone Connect stated that it is launching IPv6 services to help consumers overcome the strict requirements enforced for further allocations of IPv4 stock.
The Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia, which is responsible managing European IP address allocations, recently announced that it is right now distributing the last blocks of IPv4 address space from the available pool.
Mike Cullen, Backbone Connect’s technical director, commented, “Companies now face the jump to IPv6 addressing. RIPE are down to their last 16million IPv4 IP addresses which might sound like a lot but when you consider they were allocating just under 4million IP addresses every 10 days before they reached this last /8, you realize just how few are left.”
Cullen added, “Like many others we’ve been well aware of the limited stock and have taken steps to ensure our customers can take advantage of IPv6 IP addressing when the time comes. In fact our complete range of business internet connections is IPv6 enabled including, FTTC Business Broadband, EFM, Ethernet Internet and IP Transit direct to a data center.”
Backbone Connect claimed that it specializes in the design and build of colocation, WAN, cloud platform and Internet access solutions. It offers a complete range of cloud computing infrastructure solutions and business infrastructure solutions designed to keep users’ data safe and on the move quickly.
The company added that the core network in which its business Internet services are delivered is optimized for VoIP, video and data traffic. Its network is fully IPv6 enabled so it is future proof and it also showcases the company’s commitment to excellence seriously its resilient throughput.
