GloboTech Communications Deploys Noction Intelligent Routing Platform

September 13, 2012

GloboTech Communications, a provider of hosting solutions such as dedicated servers, server collocation, virtual private server, IP transit and Web hosting, recently deployed the Noction Intelligent Routing Platform (IRP) to deliver 100 percent network uptime to its customers.

The Noction IRP is a complete network monitoring and troubleshooting solution, making it easy to quickly detect, diagnose and resolve performance issues. It sits in the network, gets a copy of the traffic, or a Netflow/sFlow feed from edge routers and passively analyzes the traffic for specific TCP anomalies and also actively probes remote prefixes for metrics like packet loss, latency, throughput, historical reliability and maximum peer capacity.

With a network capacity of over 100 Gbps and redundant routers at every level of the network, GloboTech Communications can ensure network's robustness, reliability and maximum uptime. GloboTech Communications's network is connected to Level 3, TATA Communications, Inteliquent, nLayer and others. Therefore, the company's multi-homed network environment poses special challenges in delivering steady traffic. Noction IRP will help GloboTech Communications to automate performance-optimized routing decisions, maximize network uptime and increase stability.

"We are making all the efforts to provide 100 percent network uptime to our clients," said Noction President Grigore Raileanu, in a statement. "Noction IRP does that by applying complex performance metrics to existing routing algorithms."

Noction IRP has the ability to enhance the BGP decision-making process with dynamically learned performance and cost characteristics of given Internet routes. IRP is designed to continuously fine-tune thousands of routes, using network policies defined by business objectives. As a result, network latency is reduced by up to 30 percent and the overall performance is increased by 30 to 50 percent.

The affected network routes are probed by Noction IRP for a set of specific metrics like latency, packet loss, and jitter through all the available uplinks in order to reroute traffic to the best performing path.

BGP multihoming avoids downtime by providing redundancy. However, it does not address congestion-related problems that occur in the "middle-mile" backbone networks linking the content providers to the end-users. Noction IRP adds intelligence to multihued routing decisions. The Intelligent Route Platform takes into account business objectives and risks by maintaining policies and service demands as defined by the enterprise.

"When it comes to network's connectivity, speed and low latency is what we focus on," said Pierre-Luc Quimper, CEO and founder of GloboTech Communications. "Through intelligent route selection Noction IRP will enable us to offer even more uptime and network stability to our clients."
