Brazilian Telecom Company Unotel Selects Oversi's OverCache

Brazilian telecom company Unotel Telecom SA has selected Oversi's OverCache for deployment of OTT caching throughout Brazil. Unotel, an association of dozens of regional telecom companies in Brazil, offers value added services to over 300 ISPs and 3.5 million corporate and residential users in more than 1,000 cities.

Officials with Oversi said OverCache has been selected by the Brazilian telecom company for its centralized data center, for deployment at its associated ISPs and as an offering to additional operators throughout Brazil.

Company officials said that OverCache offers a breakthrough OTT caching and content delivery platform which enables operators to deliver the highest quality Internet video experience to their customers while saving on OPEX (News - Alert) and CAPEX.

According to company officials, the platform is based on Oversi's unique hierarchical cache architecture which separates control and data planes, allowing a true out-of-band deployment for maximum flexibility and efficiency.

This win reinforces our product strategy: the best and most flexible product for large operators, will be superior for smaller ISPs as well," said David Tolub, president and CEO, Oversi, in a statement.

Back in May,  Oversi, a major player in OTT Video and P2P caching solutions, and Jet-Stream, major player in Content Delivery Network (CDN) technologies,  announced a strategic collaboration to provide a converged content delivery solution for network operators.

This new partnership brings together Jet-Stream's best-in-class CDN technology and Oversi's solution-of-choice Transparent Caching.
