Webzilla Acquires Luxembourg's Largest Hosting Provider

July 09, 2012

Webzilla Group, a global Web hosting company held by privately owned XBT Holding Ltd., has acquired Server.lu, one of Luxembourg’s hosting providers, as a new subsidiary.

Founded in 2003, Server.lu is an Internet backbone and collocation provider specializing in dedicated servers, collocation and Web hosting. The company has built a broad customer base, gained a great deal of experience and created a solid infrastructure — all qualities that appealed to Webzilla.

"Server.lu is the perfect fit for us. They offer Luxembourg’s best parallel computing technology and are thought leaders in the hosting business," said Konstantin Bezruchenko, co-founder and CTO of Webzilla Group, in a statement.  “We are united by a common culture that includes a passion for innovating and driving a positive consumer experience.”

“We welcome Server.lu to the Webzilla family. We believe their expertise in vendor solutions will greatly contribute toward expanding our product offerings for the benefit of our customers,” said Rajesh Kumar Mishra, CFO, Webzilla.

Mishra said Webzilla always has worked to offer its customers global solutions, and this acquisition strengthens the company’s position in Europe.

Officials with Webzilla said the company plans to acquire other companies in Asia to expand its global services to new regions.

Back in May, Webzilla announced that it offers Linux server administration services to address the growing interest in managed servers. As one of the largest hosting providers in the world, Webzilla serves a number of business enterprise sector representatives.

Last year, Webzilla observed a growing interest from large clients in server administration services. Linux operating system is a reputable example of such a service, that the team at Webzilla believes would fit perfectly with their client’s needs. Linux server administration will now be included as one of the standard offers that come with the Webzilla service.

The server administration service supports the Webzilla staff to work with the customer’s server. Webzilla expert manages the operating system, configures the firewall, installs and updates the software, and monitors the entire server. Thus, the customer does not need to hire a qualified high paid server administrator.
