Inteliquent Implements EtherCloud Solution for Philippines-based Globe Telecom

July 02, 2012

Inteliquent, a provider of global interconnection and interoperability solutions, has implemented its EtherCloud solution for one of the Philippines' telecommunications firms, Globe Telecom (News - Alert).

Thanks to EtherCloud, it not only simplifies the delivery of Ethernet across a global footprint, but also enables Globe Telecom to increase its Ethernet service coverage around the world. The alliance also provides Inteliquent with enhanced local Ethernet presence in the Philippines.

"Inteliquent's EtherCloud enables us to further improve and extend the delivery of our Ethernet services to meet the needs of our enterprise clients who have customers all around the globe," said Jesus C. Romero, Globe Business head, in a statement.

Globe Telecom, through its Globe Business unit, has been offering Ethernet services in the Philippines for over a decade. Globe Business is the group within the company that serves the leading small, medium and large enterprises in the country, offering a comprehensive range of ICT solutions relevant to various business needs.

"Globe Telecom's broad network footprint is a valuable resource as we look to expand our coverage to best serve the needs of our customers. Globe Telecom is an internationally respected carrier and we are thrilled to be a part of its latest product enhancement," commented Surendra Saboo (News - Alert), president and COO of Inteliquent.

Saboo said that Inteliquent's vast network footprint is made even stronger by the network reach of each of the company’s esteemed EtherCloud partners.

Officials with Inteliquent said that as a layer 2 platform, EtherCloud connects diverse partner networks into a seamless Ethernet cloud that delivers end-to-end connectivity around the world.

It relies on a global MPLS backbone as a distributed switched network of 120 PoPs to interconnect partners' networks through standardized E-NNIs.

According to company officials, by interconnecting partner networks to create one holistic Ethernet cloud, EtherCloud enables users to both source and sell Ethernet point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and any-to-any (VPLS) services, allowing them to create high performance connectivity solutions for all Global Ethernet WAN requirements. EtherCloud provides a one-stop-shop solution to connect anywhere in the world.
