Shenick Helps Move Mobile Voice Services to VoLTE

May 02, 2012

Shenick (News - Alert) is helping mobile service providers and network equipment manufacturers to move mobile voice services to Voice over LTE (VoLTE) through Shenick's diversifEye solution.

Shenick Network Systems is currently working with SPs and NEMs to test quality of experience of 4G networks for Voice over LTE (News - Alert) for this solution that will be showcased at the Enterprise Ireland Pavilion, Hall F, Booth 5343.

“Shenick is helping SP's and NEM's to address the real quality challenge in moving mobile voice services from what used to be dedicated voice handling infrastructure to VoLTE which utilizes the shared medium of IP with bandwidth hungry video and data applications,” said Robert Winters (News - Alert), chief marketing officer at Shenick Network Systems.

The company claims its Shenick's diversifEye has the ability to test 4G networks for next generation VoLTE, IP video and other data services over both regular and secure mobile VPN's right down to each individual application flow.

Commenting on the rationale of the solution, Shenick Network Systems says that both carriers and NEMs are challenged to deliver high quality VoLTE, which combines a high level of security with IMS services and SIP-based voice over IP (VoIP).

"High bandwidth LTE deployments carrying VoLTE calls, streaming video and data services, together with increased demand for secure enterprise VPN connections pushes the LTE network to its limits. In all of this, there are serious considerations for quality, scale, performance and integration," said Winters.

This challenge is addressed by diversifEye as it ensures service providers quality of experience for each and every VoLTE call. In addition, this solution can also stress test mobile VPNs to breaking point by scaling to tens of Gigabits-per-second of stateful traffic.

Shenick adds that diversifEye also enables carriers to identify 4G performance bottlenecks and gives insight into end user QoE limitations.

Shenick Network Systems was in news earlier this year for launching diversifEye Virtual Machine (VM), an IP test and measurement solution that can operate in a multi-hypervisor environment.
