Telekom Slovenia Selects BroadWorks Communication Platform

April 13, 2012

The communication software company BroadSoft (News - Alert) Inc, just revealed that Slovenia’s number one telecommunications operator, Telekom Slovenia Group, has selected the company's BroadWorks communication platform.

BroadWorks is designed to enable service providers to provide enterprises and consumers with a range of cloud-based or hosted IP multimedia communications, such as hosted IP private branch exchanges, video calling, unified communications, collaboration and converged mobile and fixed-line services.

After experiencing a significant growth in its IP telephony clientele, Telekom Slovenia Group has decided to roll out its IP Centrex offering for the Slovenian enterprise and government market. Under IP Centrex, the company plans to offer fixed mobile Internet and state-of-the-art integrated telecommunication solutions, which will include on-demand enterprise services such as video, call center and messaging. BroadWorks provides the telecom operator with a single application platform from which it can quickly, seamlessly and cost-effectively deploy IP Centrex services.

Using BroadWorks platform, Telekom Slovenia will be able to deliver enhanced call center capabilities, comprehensive front office/auto-attendant tools, unified messaging, and voicemail to email to large enterprises and government sector clients. Additionally, the service enables Telekom Slovenia to support integrated communications for multi-location enterprises.

The BroadWorks platform will also allow Telekom Slovania to offer SaaS (News - Alert)-based offerings to its small and medium-sized customers. As a result, these SMB clients will be able to afford a rich set of enhanced capabilities for hosted voice without the operational and maintenance expenses associated with on-premises PBX (News - Alert) equipment.

According to a press release, Telekom Slovenia Group currently serves more than 2.3 million users of mobile services, as well as more than one million residential and commercial users of fixed telephony, and 'triple play' services including voice, IPTV (News - Alert) and Internet services.

“Telekom Slovenia serves a diverse range of customers, including small businesses, large enterprises and government agencies -- each with its own set of feature and functionality requirements -- and BroadWorks has proven itself uniquely suited to meet each of their communications needs. BroadSoft has established a premier reputation in the European region, and enables us to provide customers with superior features, flexibility and cost savings over traditional public switched networks. We look forward to expanding our relationship,” Product Manager of Managed Services at Telekom Slovenia, Andrej Kristan noted in a statement.
